Vedic Compatibility

Guna Milan, or Ashtakoota matching, is the traditional Vedic compatibility method. It scores eight factors (kootas) from both partners' Moon sign and nakshatra, out of 36 gunas.

Traditionally 18 or more out of 36 is acceptable, 24+ is very good and 28+ is excellent. A score is only a starting point, the whole chart matters.

When both partners share the same Nadi, the Nadi koota scores 0 of 8. Astrologers consider exceptions (cancellations) that this free tool doesn't apply.

Classical Ashtakoota rules treat Varna, Vashya and Gana differently for the groom and bride. Enter the groom-role person as Partner 1 for traditional results.
