What is Mars mahadasha?

In Vimshottari dasha, life moves through nine planetary periods in a fixed 120-year cycle. Mars gets 7 years. It comes right after the Moon's 10-year period and is followed by Rahu's 18 years.

• Property and land. Buying a home or land, construction, and renovation are classic Mars results (Mars is bhumi karaka, the significator of land).
• Career in action. Engineering, surgery, police and armed forces, sports, real estate, manufacturing, and startups often do well.
• Siblings and courage. Younger siblings, teammates, and your own nerve come into focus.

• Mars in Capricorn (exalted) or in Aries or Scorpio (own signs). Usually strong and productive. Mars in Cancer is debilitated, so drive can turn into frustration or emotional fights unless it's well supported.

Mars wants an outlet. Give it a good one:

• Move every day. Running, martial arts, the gym, or yoga. This is the most effective Mars remedy there is.

• Tuesdays and Hanuman. Many people recite the Hanuman Chalisa or chant "Om Angarakaya Namah" or "Om Bhaumaya Namah" on Tuesdays. Kartikeya (Murugan) worship is also traditional.
